• Leading the Pilot Phase 2 of the Disability Assessment, Certification and Determination Protocol for Social Protection Programming in Sierra Leone (2025 – present).
• Supported the Missing Billion Initiative (opens in new tab) by developing and piloting a novel health facility accessibility assessment tool (opens in new tab) and contributing data analyses to the 2023 report Lack of disability data impedes healthcare equity (opens in new tab).
• Academic co-lead responsible for curriculum design, content development, and management of the “Global Health and Disability” FutureLearn MOOC (opens in new tab) (launched 2018, 16,000 learners to date).
• Led evidence brief development for multiple briefs within the Disability Evidence Portal (opens in new tab) (2020–2021):

• Designed and led the National Survey of Disability in Guatemala (opens in new tab) (2016).
• Designed and led the “Building the Evidence” surveys in Cameroon and India (opens in new tab), including field-testing the UNICEF Child Functioning Module and coordinating a qualitative exploration of barriers to accessing health services (2013–2014).
• Coordinated the Key Informant Child Disability Study (opens in new tab) in Bangladesh and Pakistan (2011–2012).

global eye health

• Led the development and launch of RAAB7 (opens in new tab) (2021–present), digitising and enhancing the Rapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness survey methodology (the largest source of population vision data globally). Also led the development and management of a six-week asynchronous Training of Trainers Programme (opens in new tab) for eye health professionals, delivered on MoodleCloud.
• Commissioner on the 2021 Lancet Global Health Commission on Global Eye Health (opens in new tab) (cited over 1,500 times to date).
• Designed and led the Gambia National Eye Health Survey (opens in new tab) 2019.
