Islay Mactaggart (PhD)
I am an independent research consultant specialising in disability-inclusive global health and global eye health, with 20 years of experience leading research across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific. My work focuses on disability measurement and epidemiology, vision impairment, inclusive WASH, and multimorbidity. Alongside my independent consulting, I am an Associate Professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications to date.
I offer services in bid development, research design and field implementation, data analysis and evidence synthesis, monitoring and evaluation, policy and technical writing, curriculum development and training. My collaborators and clients have included WHO, Save the Children, World Vision, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, CBM International, UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA.
